The Battle of Blore Heath

The Battle of Blore Heath in 1459 saw the death of four of my ancestors
- Sir Thomas Dutton of Dutton near Runcorn, his brother John, his eldest son Peter, and his father in law Lord Audley, James Touchet 5th Baron Audley, who commanded the Lancastrian army against Richard Neville Earl of Salisbury’s Yorkist forces. The Battle was one of the first major battles in the Wars of the Roses. Approximately 2000 Lancastrian forces were killed.
